Nursery & Preschool

Discovery PitStop will provide daily and extended care
for infants to children 4 years of age.

In our Infant Discovery PitStop (4 months-12 months old) we will encourage exploration in its earliest form, encouraging little discoverers to engage in tummy time and other developmentally appropriate activities. They will be immersed in stimuli as they explore their classroom environment that will be filled with artwork, educational toys, and soothing music.

The Toddler Discovery PitStop (1-2 years old) will set the groundwork for foundational reading and math skills by introducing students to the concept of letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Toddlers will be encouraged to engage in pretend play and learn to interact with their environment through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) activities such as building and observing the natural world. Students will begin to explore literature as they are presented daily with classic book titles during read aloud and one on one reading time.

The 2s and 3s Discovery PitStop and the 3s and 4s Discovery PitStop will prepare children for pre-kindergarten and elementary school by introducing them to sight words and basic decoding, number sense, and social sciences. Students will participate in ongoing STEAM experiences that will be showcased for parents throughout the school year.

Discovery PitStop will also offer weekend Play Space featuring soft play and ride-on toys for toddlers and preschoolers. It will be open for weekly events and classes, and available for private parties. The playspace will feature a Tech PitStop with tablets and computers where children can play preloaded educational games, a Movement PitStop where children may engage in physical activity, a Reading PitStop, and an Arts/Science PitStop where children can engage in crafting and science experiments.
